We started building DRD on September 5, 2026. Follow the story from the first foundations to a growing toolkit, a more capable Droid, and the product taking shape around them.
DRD began. We created the project, configured the infrastructure, and laid the groundwork for a new way to build software.
The idea was simple: give people a capable coding partner and the foundations to turn their ideas into software of their own. September 5 was the day we started making it real.
Ephemeral coding environments gave Droid a place to work, bringing the Pi harness together with our own DRD harness.
With the coding-agent infrastructure in place, we could start shaping how Droid approaches a project and turns an idea into a working app.
We expanded what Droid could do and gave him a way to learn your tastes, remember project preferences, and grow alongside your ideas.
A building partner should get to know the way you like to work. Project preferences help Droid carry that understanding into the next stage of your build.
Templates, UI primitives, and reusable modules joined the toolkit, giving new projects a head start and more room to grow.
Instead of beginning with an empty canvas every time, projects can build on a growing collection of foundations and ready-to-use features.
Stripe payments joined the toolkit, connecting the things you build with a way to turn them into a business.
Bringing payments into DRD gives projects another useful building block as they move from an idea toward something people can use and pay for.
A more polished workspace, clearer navigation, and a consistent DRD identity made the whole experience feel more connected.
We refined the everyday experience around building: less clutter, a clearer place for project settings, and more space for you and Droid to work together.
We gave DRD’s company story a home and started sharing the journey. The product is moving quickly, and this is only the beginning.
